Counseling for Men

I’m Will, a licensed professional counselor, and I work primarily with men who are carrying more than they let on.

Many of the men I work with are used to handling things on their own as they push through stress, and often stay quiet about their personal challenges, while trying to move forward without support.

The thing is, all of us need a support system and connection. So the strategy mentioned above is only a short-term solution to the long-term issue of loneliness and never truly feeling seen or heard.

Why I Work with Men

Men are often taught to stay composed, handle pressure, and keep moving forward no matter what.

That can build and show strength, but it can also lead to isolation, burnout, and depression.

I focus on working with men because I understand the pressure to:

  • stay in control
  • provide and perform
  • avoid appearing weak
  • handle things without help

Counseling offers a space where you don’t have to carry that alone and where you can start addressing what’s underneath it.

My Approach to Counseling

My approach is grounded, honest, and focused on real progress.

I don’t believe in therapy that drifts without direction. I work with clients in a way that is tailored to each client’s goals and personality, and is structured, practical, and centered on helping you find your path forward.

That means:

  • understanding what’s actually driving your thoughts and behaviors
  • identifying patterns that keep you stuck
  • developing tools you can use in real life
  • having direct, honest conversations when it matters

I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology.

What You Can Expect Working With Me

Clients often describe the work as:

  • straightforward
  • structured but not rigid
  • practical, not just theoretical
  • focused on real-life application
  • Insightful and impactful

You won’t be expected to have the right words right away.

You won’t be forced into anything you’re not ready for.

But you will be challenged in a way that helps you grow.

Faith and Counseling

For clients who value faith, I make space for those conversations in a way that is respectful and grounded.

Faith can be a meaningful part of understanding identity, purpose, and direction.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in counseling and board certification through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).

My training includes work in:

A First Step

If you’re considering counseling, you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Most people don’t.

The first step is simply starting the conversation.
