About Will – Counseling for Men
I’m Will, a licensed professional counselor, and I work primarily with men who are carrying more than they let on.
Many of the men I work with are used to handling things on their own — pushing through stress, staying quiet about what’s really going on, and trying to figure things out without help.
At some point, that stops working.
That’s usually when they reach out.
Why I Work with Men
Men are often taught to stay composed, handle pressure, and keep moving forward no matter what.
That can build strength — but it can also lead to isolation, frustration, and carrying weight alone for too long.
I focus on working with men because I understand the pressure to:
- stay in control
- provide and perform
- avoid appearing weak
- handle things without help
Counseling offers a space where you don’t have to carry that alone — and where you can start addressing what’s underneath it.
My Approach to Counseling
My approach is grounded, honest, and focused on real progress.
I don’t believe in therapy that drifts without direction. I work with clients in a way that is structured, practical, and centered on helping you move forward.
That means:
- understanding what’s actually driving your thoughts and behaviors
- identifying patterns that keep you stuck
- developing tools you can use in real life
- having direct, honest conversations when it matters
I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology — but the focus is always on what works for you.
What You Can Expect Working With Me
Clients often describe the work as:
- straightforward and honest
- structured but not rigid
- practical, not just theoretical
- focused on real-life application
- Insightful and impactful
You won’t be expected to have the right words right away.
You won’t be forced into anything you’re not ready for.
But you will be challenged — in a way that helps you grow.
Faith and Counseling
For clients who value faith, I make space for those conversations in a way that is respectful and grounded.
Faith can be a meaningful part of understanding identity, purpose, and direction — but it is never forced.
Credentials and Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in counseling and board certification through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
My training includes work in:
- anxiety and stress management
- depression and emotional regulation
- trauma and EMDR
- relationship challenges
- personal growth and identity development
A Straightforward First Step
If you’re considering counseling, you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Most people don’t.
The first step is simply starting the conversation.
